Defender Harness

Our Defender Harness, which is an exclusive K9 Tactical Gear design, has been our top selling harness for years. This harness was created to be a minimal and effective approach to be your go-to harness without impeding mobility or comfort. It is manufactured to withstand years of use from daily wear, long hikes, police patrol work, military applications, and all types of working dog training. The harness comes standard with a rigid and functional handle, loop attachment (velcro) for personalization on each side of the neck, two leash attachment points, and a padded front chest piece for extra comfort. 

The use of our 1.75” rigid Mil-Spec webbing is one of the multiple specs that set this harness apart from the others. We believe this is the perfect firmness and width for both strength and comfort. A minimal profile harness with this material allows your canine to stay cool in temperamental climates and withstand any challenging working conditions you might find yourself in. K9 Tactical Gear only uses the highest quality hardware on the market. The AustriAlpin buckle is constructed of aluminum to be lightweight with a high tensile break strength. You will find two forged V-rings, front and rear, for control exactly where you want it. The harness is constructed with a high strength bar-tac stitch pattern commonly used in skydiving and rock-climbing equipment.

Double Buckle Defender Harness

 It has been long awaited and much anticipated. This model features all of the other great benefits and same design as our tried and true Defender Harness,  but this model features an additional AustriAlpin Cobra buckle on the opposing side. The main benefit of this model is with two buckles you no longer have to pull your dog's leg through a girth strap. This allows your dog's legs to both stand on the ground as you put them into their harness. The other benefit to the double-buckle version is the second buckle works as a counter balance ensuring the harness always stays centered and balanced on your canine. 

The Defender Harness has different accessories you can attach at any point. The detachable mesh is one of the most popular accessories. This product allows for even more personalization of patches, ID cards, or plain mesh.

Elite (patterned) Option: The construction is slightly different but has all the same benefits as our traditional (solid), only slightly thicker! By choosing an elite pattern the cordura front yolk of the harness will be in the pattern of choice as will the top, handle and girth strap.

• Standard plain mesh has no velcro or additions, it is simply to help keep the tail of the harness down. 
• ID card Holder/Velcro
• One side has a plastic ID card holder sewn onto mesh, approximately the size of a drivers license card. The other side is velcro. 
• Velcro 
• Four 1" strips of velcro sewn onto webbing in the formation of molle.

This product is designed to fit medium-sized and large-sized breeds, this harness  is available in the following sizes

• Small:       Girth 25"-30"
• Medium:   Girth 29"-34"
• Large:       Girth 32"-38"
• X-Large:   Girth 36"-42"

X-Small :  23" - 26" - Please note the XS Defender is 1.5" webbing and available in black only at this time. The XS mesh will not be interchangeable with other sizes. 

The neck should not be fully expanded. It needs at least 3" of hook and loop to be in contact with each other. 

Please measure your pet or working dog's girth with a soft measuring tape (or piece of string- then lay against a tape measure)  to get the most accurate measurement. Our harness measurements are listed above in inches.

What’s the purpose for two V-Rings?
The option for two attachment points allows for standard lead attachment on the forward v-ring for routine use and specialized lead attachment to the rear v-ring in tracking and agitation use.
Is the mesh removable?
Yes, the harness comes standard with loop attachment on the inside of the harness webbing for mesh attachment.

Is the mesh included?

Is this only designed for working use?
No, this harness can be used for canines of almost any size and activity level.
