Tac 2 Collar 1.75"
Our most popular collar in our lineup is the Tac 2 1.75”. This has been our best seller for years!
The difference of the Tac 2 1.75” over our original Tac collar is the Tac 2 only utilizes two pieces of hardware rather than three. We maximize the functional real estate on this collar to allow for more room for personalization with more loop attachment (velcro). The attachment point on this collar is built right into the buckle, of course with only the best hardware on the market, AustriAlpin D-ring Cobra. The D-ring is not only built-in, but is able to tuck more into the dog for less snagging while off leash or bent down for easy connection. The collar is held together with a high strength bar-tac stitch pattern commonly used in skydiving and rock-climbing equipment.
This collar comes standard with the following:
Accent Stitching:
The day has finally come that we are able to re-release one of our favorite personalization selections, accent stitching! You now first select your base color for your collar or leash and then you are given the opportunity to then select a second color in which your item will be sewn. This adds yet another detail in being able to have not only the best, but most unique gear on the market.
Please note any accent stitching option makes this product not eligible for return.
A common question we get from our customers is wanting to know the difference between the Tac 2 1.5” and the Tac 2 1.75” (link). One is not superior to the other, it comes down to personal preference. The 1.75” is .25” wider than the 1.5”. The 1.75” has more room for loop attachment personalization (ID panels). Lastly, the 1.5” is constructed from a piece of 1.5” harness sewn to a 1.5” Mil-Spec pack webbing for a more rigid and durable option. The 1.75” is a single piece of wider and more pliable webbing folded, doubling its thickness when manufactured. The 1.75” is also only offered in our traditional (solid) colors while the 1.5” is offered in traditional and elite (patterned) options.

Where do I attach my leash to this collar?
The Cobra Prostyle Buckle is equipped with a D-Ring for attachment to your leash or lead.
Why won’t this collar work with a 3/8” or ½” Bolt snap?
The D-Ring on the Cobra Prostyle Buckle is designed to take on up to 2500lbs of force. For this to happen, they employ a thicker steel ring that is too large for the smaller bolt snaps to attach.
How many panels can I attach to this collar? What size can they be?
The Tac 2 1.75” can fit up to 8” of panels/patches on the 14’-17” and 9.5” on the other sizes. Our customizable ID panel comes at a maximum length of 6” Depending on text lettering, so you’re still left with 2”-3.5” of space for additional panels/patches.
Could I request a specific length for my ID Panel?
Yes! Please send an email to support@k9tacticalgear.com with your request and order number to have the panel(s) resized. Please note: We will not be able to extend panel length beyond the maximum length allowed by the loop attachment.
What is the purpose of the elastic band?
The elastic band is designed to retain the layers of collar webbing if it’s adjusted. Once the slide adjuster is moved to shorten the collar, it leaves a space for the webbing to expand freely. The band prevents this to avoid snagging.
What is the difference between the 1.75” Tac 2 and Original Tac Collar?
The Tac 2 1.75” has a D-Ring built into the buckle whereas the Original Tac Collar has a Steel V-ring mounted separately from the buckle. This results in a different mounting point and collar position for your leash attachment. For Tac 2, the buckle sits low without a lead, and sits high when a leash is being used. For the Original Tac, the buckle and V-Ring position doesn’t change with the addition of a leash.
